Why Don't We Just Kill Ourselves? (2026)
Opening against Heart of the Beast, this one will be fighting for the same weekend conversation.
It hits the big screen on September 24, 2026.
Welcome to Rozumov, a village where everyone knows everything about everyone else, where neighborly feuds are passed down from generation to generation, and no scandal stays hidden behind closed gates for long. For years, the village has been torn apart by a feud between two irreconcilable families. On one side stands the Šmrha family, on the other the Průša family, and both are convinced that truth, honor, and common sense reside solely with them. Their children, Karel and Marie, however, are secretly in love despite their fathers’ wishes. When Marie, after yet another family spat, agrees to participate in the reality TV show Blind Wedding, she causes quite a stir in Rozumov. Karel is distraught, the parents are furious, and a TV crew, along with an eccentric Swedish metalhead, arrives in the village. So, in a haze of alcohol, Šmrha and Průša call an unexpected truce and devise a plan to save their children from a televised embarrassment: they’ll secretly marry them off by proxy.
