The story, in the studio's words

Innocence, resistance, and the power of imagination against the dark

Set in 1944, in the years after the Spanish Civil War, Pan's Labyrinth follows young Ofelia, who relocates with her pregnant mother to the countryside where her stepfather, the ruthless Captain Vidal, is hunting the last of the rebels. In a hidden labyrinth she meets an ageless Faun, who tells her she is the lost princess of an enchanted world and sets her three tasks to reclaim her royal heritage.

Guillermo del Toro's film won three Academy Awards, for Cinematography, Art Direction and Makeup, from six nominations, and remains 95 percent Certified Fresh. Roger Ebert named it the best film of 2006.

For the 20th anniversary, Cineverse and Fathom Entertainment present the film theatrically in 4K for the first time, in a stereoscopic 3D conversion made by hand at SDFX Studios, and in 2D HDR by Barco, every version overseen by del Toro. Presented in Spanish with English subtitles.

Made by hand, twice

The 4K restoration and the 3D conversion were both created by hand and personally overseen by Guillermo del Toro. Vincent Defebo of SDFX Studios called bringing the film into 3D a dream come true. The 2D HDR presentation by Barco reaches up to six times the peak luminance of a standard print.
